DENTAL CROWNS & BRIDGES • BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TX

Porcelain Crowns & Bridges Give Patients A Reason To Smile

Modern dental materials and advanced training allow Dr. Reece and Dr. Jouett to keep your smile white and healthy, using composite resin fillings and all-porcelain crowns, onlays and inlays. Our office uses these esthetic restorations because they provide inconspicuous remedies to tooth decay and damage, and they don’t contain harmful heavy metals like traditional amalgam fillings do.

Over time, teeth can weaken and begin to crack or chip. Not only can this impair your proper chewing mechanics, but it can also do damage to the natural appearance of your smile, as well as make your teeth vulnerable to further damage and decay. If you’re experiencing these issues, you’re certainly not alone, but perhaps you’ve delayed getting dental care, due to being too embarrassed or nervous. As long as the roots and interior of a tooth are still healthy, we can restore its appearance with a porcelain dental crown. If you have one or two missing teeth, the remaining gaps and spaces can compromise the health of remaining teeth. In such cases, a dental bridge may be an excellent solution for completing your smile. When you need to make your smile whole and fully functional again, Radiant Exceptional Dentistry in Bryan–College Station, TX offers beautiful porcelain crowns and bridges that can restore the appearance of your smile and functionality of your teeth.

All-ceramic crowns have been used throughout the last four decades as an alternative to older porcelain-fused metal crowns, due to their far superior appearance. Our team only uses all-porcelain crowns and bridges, simply because they provide beautiful and durable results. Our skilled dentists Dr. Michael K. Reece and Dr. Ryan M. Jouett have the extensive experience in restorative treatments to craft completely functional outcomes, together with the artistic eye to provide solutions that will bring out your esthetically attractive smile!

Dental Crowns: Repair A Damaged Tooth

Dental crowns – caps that cover an entire tooth, replacing the outer enamel with new material – are used to restore teeth that are broken, chipped, misshapen, decayed or severely worn-down, as well as those that have large worn-out restorations. Dental crowns are also used to preserve a tooth after root canal therapy or to restore a permanent dental implant. The process involves filing down and reshaping the tooth to a smaller size. Any tooth decay is removed from the surface of the tooth, and the structure is restored to support the crown. Impressions are taken and sent to a specialized dental lab to design your new restoration. We also use these to create a functional temporary crown you’ll wear until the new porcelain crown is ready. Your porcelain crown will be customized to match the size, shape and color of your natural teeth. Typically, very minimal adjustments are required prior to cementing the crown in place to ensure it fits perfectly and feels natural.

Dental Bridges: Replace A Missing Tooth

If you’ve lost a tooth, but aren’t ready to commit to a dental implant, a dental bridge created by our Bryan–College Station, TX staff is your next best option. A dental bridge consists of dental crowns placed on the adjacent natural teeth, with a false tooth attached (or “bridged”) between them. This single unit prosthesis is cemented onto the teeth on either side of the missing tooth. As with single crowns, modifications are made to the adjacent teeth to accommodate the crowns. Unlike dental implants, bridges don’t prevent bone deterioration and resorption where the tooth was lost, but by filling in the empty space, dental bridges enable proper chewing and prevent any movement (or “drifting”) of adjacent teeth.
