I've written in the past about the connections between tooth decay and heart disease. Now, a recent study has shown evidence that there is a correlation between periodontitis and ED (erectile dysfunction). This study, released in the December issue of the Periodontal Journal, comes to the conclusion that it can be proposed that chronic periodontitis "influences EDys, which can further lead to Erectile Dysfunction" (p1668). While ED is potentially treatable, it is the kind of medical condition a person should not take lightly. This goes to show you, once again, that maintaining good oral hygiene is crucial–not just for your confidence but for your health!
