I have spent the last week in Grapevine, TX at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists (AACD) annual meeting. It was fortunate for me that it is held this year in our own backyard. It is so close that I could drive!!! If that wasn't bad enough, my car has run-flat tires and no spare! I had to wait 2 1/2 hours for a tow truck to come and get me. I arrived at the Gaylord Texan in style, though, riding in the from of a very large flat bed tow truck, with my car riding on the back. The valets told me that they had never had someone pull up in a tow-truck. (It is good to be the first in things, however, I can think of better things to be first in.) If your haven't been to the Gaylord Texan, you owe it to yourself to visit. All Gaylord hotels are incredible and the Gaylord Texan is no different. The grounds and landscaping is unbelievable!! The meeting is a great time for me to upgrade my skills and see friends. The AACD is the most respected dental organization in the world for cosmetic dentists. I have been a member for 13 years and very proud of the fact that I am passed the very demanding exams and clinical reviews to become an accredited member (1 of only 16 in Texas).
One of the classes, I attended was on social networking. This something that is changing our culture. This is the first time in history where information can be exchanged in a 2-way manner to large numbers of people. I am committed to bring our office into the 21st century using these new methods. (That may seem funny, as I have not been that good at keeping this blog current, but I resolved to do better.)
