New Year's Resolution – Stop Waking Up My Spouse With Snoring

In honor of the New Year, I found this list of the most commonly broken resolutions. Some of the resolutions this list mentions are:

* Quitting smoking * Eat healthier and diet * Get out of debt * Be less stressed

One resolution that wasn't mentioned here but comes up repeatedly in Internet searches around New Years is to stop snoring!

While snoring is annoying for your bedmate or roommate, it can actually be a symptom of a deeper problem.

As I have mentioned before, I personally have been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and use an oral appliance to remedy the problem.  This condition, if left untreated, can lead to extreme fatigue, lower quality of life, and possibly even heart disease!

You may have OSA if you...

* Snore heavily * Wake up gasping for air * Feel un-refreshed after waking up * Experience morning headaches

Luckily, this condition is very treatable. There are a variety of solutions, ranging from a night-time breathing machine called a CPAP to a custom fit mouthpiece.
