Brush to Prevent Heart Disease?

Gum disease and cardiovascular diseaseare both major public health issues that impact a large number of Americans every day.  Research indicates that gum disease and heart disease are connected; having 1 disease may actually increase the risk of developing the other.

I know a dentist who had a patient whose dad was put in the ICU after having heart attack like symptoms. 2 weeks later he died.  The death certificate said : cause of death: dental infectionThe dad had periodontal disease (gum disease) and the inflammation from the gum infection caused his heart attack.

Since several studies have shown a link between periodontal disease and cardiovascular disease, it is more important than ever to take care of your teeth and gums!  Brush your teeth twice each day, as well as floss once each day.  If you have any questions please call our office.
